Strolling, shopping and dining within sight of the castle
Only a few minutes away from the grand ducal palace, medieval alleys invite you to stroll. Several hundred architectural and cultural monuments, including many half-timbered houses as well as the market and town hall, bring the town’s history from its foundation in 1160 to the present day to life.
Classic and modern touch each other in many ways and in an enchanting way.
Schwerin can justifiably be called the cultural capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. And this has been the case for many hundreds of years. Art and culture were particularly promoted at the seat of the dukes.
